A DYNAMIC FORCE IN PUBLIC SPEAKING
Jahmeelah “Jam” Gamble
didn’t start her career planning to become a public speaking coach – she simply embraced her natural gift of connecting with audiences.
In 2014, Jam applied to be a TEDx speaker, but organizers thought her talents would shine brighter as the event’s host.
Hosting TEDx came with one unexpected twist: Jam was paired with a public speaking coach, her first-ever encounter with the profession.
For someone who got in trouble as a kid for talking too much, it was eye-opening to discover that many people actually feared public speaking.
The TEDx role required her to memorize scripted introductions, but Jam knew her strength lay in speaking from the heart. She convinced the coach to let her improvise, despite it bending the TEDx model, and by the end of the event, the coach handed Jam her card, saying,
“This isn’t for you – it’s for someone who needs it.”
For the first time, Jam felt her voice was validated.
Two years later, after hosting more events and growing her confidence on stage, Jam kept getting asked, “How do you make it look so easy?” Driven by these questions, she impulsively announced on Instagram that she could help people become better speakers.
And just like that, the Slay The Mic™ Method was born.
The Slay The Mic™ Method isn’t about being a “perfect speaker” – it’s about tapping into your true voice and learning to trust it, flaws and all. Since taking her program international in 2020, Jam has been teaching voices from around the world virtually, witnessing incredible transformations over the past four years.
From nervous first-timers to seasoned professionals, her students learn that their voice is a tool they can wield with authenticity and purpose.
Today, Jam Gamble is more than a coach – she’s a trailblazer in vocal empowerment, helping people embrace their voices, whether on stage or in everyday life. From appearances on CTV’s The Social and Breakfast Television to transformative sessions with corporate teams, Jam brings a unique mix of boldness, warmth, and expertise to every audience.
Her mission is simple yet powerful: to guide people in loving, trusting, and honouring their voices. Jam isn’t just helping people speak; she’s showing them that their voice has been a superpower all along.

Truly loved Jam's energy but also her paying attention to the audience, calling out names to hear their perspectives.
It felt super interactive and really appreciated this especially when every other conference out there is one-direction. This felt like an energy-boosting workshop!

ACCIDENTAL TV HOST
Jam's background in special education and her love of sharing people’s stories to amplify led her to “accidentally” pitch her own television show, “A Voice for All” on Rogers TV.
What first began as a way to fulfill her 40-hour summer volunteer requirements, would soon spark a newfound passion for advocacy.
Without any previous background in the TV industry, but with a clear vision in mind, she was ready to take the world by storm.
An undeniable visionary and strategist, Jahmeelah conceptualized, and later went on to produce and host a 30-minute weekly program, "A Voice For All;” a first of its kind on Rogers TV.
What Jam had created was novel in its ability to hold space for the voices of parents, individuals with disabilities, and community groups. Over the course of six successful seasons, the popular show brought many impactful conversations to the fore, and aired a total of more than 50 episodes.
