A VOICE FOR ALL:
The Series That Started It All
I had just graduated from my Developmental Services Worker program when my mom sent me an email that stuck with me. Don't be basic. Think outside the box.
I was passionate about disability awareness and wanted to educate my community about autism awareness month. So I went to Rogers Television and did a segment. It went okay — but I knew I could go deeper. When I went back to their website looking for another opportunity, I thought I was choosing which show I wanted to appear on. I wasn't. I was pitching my own.
That accidental pitch became A Voice For All — a community television show I hosted and produced for six seasons. The show gave a platform to people with disabilities, their families, frontline workers, and community advocates. And because this was community television, there was no budget for teleprompters. I winged every single episode!
Over 50 episodes of showing up, figuring it out, and trusting my voice completely. That is what prepared me to walk onto any stage, into any room, and hold it.
A Voice For All didn't just give me a platform…it made me the speaker and the coach I am today.
