THE NEXT CHAPTER OF SLAY THE MIC®
EMERGE
Your voice is your ultimate superpower.
What could change when you let yourself be seen and heard?
For over a decade, I’ve built a reputation for creating the kind of vocal breakthroughs that change more than how someone speaks.

emerge, verb
/əˈmərj/
To come forth. To become known.
To move out of something and into view.
Where in your life are you still waiting, editing yourself or holding something back?
What are you ready to say, ask for, create, claim or do differently?
And what might happen if you finally gave yourself permission to emerge?
My Emerging Story
Earlier this year, as I was approaching 10 years of Slay The Mic®, I wanted to create a video that told the story of how it all came to be. Why I started it, what made the program different and the community that had grown around it.
As we started telling that story, I realized I couldn’t explain how Slay The Mic® evolved or why I eventually brought the program to a close without talking about what happened to me in 2021, when I was targeted online in a hate crime.
Suddenly, a story I had kept very protected was sitting right there in the middle of the documentary.
The thought of sharing that part publicly made me physically sick. My mom had once told me that my mess could become a message, and I was pissed when she said it. I had no interest in turning what happened to me into something meaningful.
The documentary was finished in February. I shared pieces of it, but I still didn’t know if I would ever share that part.
Then Emerge started taking shape.
And I began to understand that people learn to hide parts of themselves for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it’s what we were taught. Sometimes it’s what we’ve lived through.
I knew what it felt like when an experience made being fully seen feel less safe.
And if I was going to help other people emerge, I knew I had to be willing to do some of that emerging myself.
Looking back, I can see that my own emerging story had already started unfolding in that documentary months before I even knew what Emerge would become.
Turns out, my mom was right.

THE VOCAL ARCHETYPES
Where do you recognize yourself?
EMERGE
Imagine where your voice could take you.
A life that sounds more
like you.
More Confidence
A Ripple Effect
More of You Gets to be Seen
Bigger Opportunities
More Room to Choose Yourself
You go After What You Actually Want
Say what you mean.
Trust yourself. Stop second-guessing
every move.
Your children see you speak up. The people you love get to
know more of you. Others feel permission
to use their voice, too.
Put yourself forward.
Say yes to the bigger thing. Let people know what
you can do.
Set the boundary, Ask for what you need Stop automatically
putting yourself last.
Name it.
Ask for it. Make decisions that move
you closer to it.
Share your ideas.
Create the thing Stop keeping so much
of yourself to yourself.
TWO WAYS TO EMERGE
Give your voice room to emerge.
Choose the experience that meets you where you are right now.
EMERGE PROGRAM
Imagine what you could discover about your voice, and about yourself, in 8 weeks.
Emerge gives you the space to explore what reclaiming your voice looks like for you, where you’re ready to stretch and how you want to be seen and heard differently in your life.
Doing that work in a group adds something you can’t create on your own. You may hear someone name something you’ve been carrying for years, recognize yourself in someone else’s breakthrough or feel braver because you watched someone else go first. That shared experience gives you perspective, momentum and a place to practise showing up differently while you’re still in the work.
The group is capped at 20 so there’s room for depth, connection and individual attention.

OUR FIRST CALL
Orientation
Before we move into the 8-week framework, our first call is Orientation. This is where I get to learn where you are with your voice, what you want to work on and what you want to get out of Emerge.
I use what I learn from you individually and from the group as a whole to create a cohort experience that reflects the goals, challenges and needs of the people in it.
Weeks 1 + 2: UNLEARN
We'll explore some of what has shaped your relationship with your voice, including the messages, experiences and patterns that may still be influencing how you communicate and show up today.
Weeks 5 + 6: ACT
This is where we put the work into practice. You'll have opportunities to use your voice differently in real situations, experiment, take some vocal risks and pay attention to what happens when you do.
Weeks 3 + 4: RECLAIM
We'll look at what you're ready to reclaim when it comes to your voice: permission, choice, self-trust and the right to express what you actually think, need, want and believe.
Weeks 7 + 8: IT’S TIME TO EMERGE
This is where you get to enjoy the voice you've been making more room for. "Jam Talk" brings our eight weeks together, giving you the mic to share a story, idea or message and letting the rest of us cheer you on.
What to Expect

“If I hide from the spotlight, how will my voice shine?”
A SLAY THE MIC® AFFIRMATION
I've seen what happens when you step into the light.
For 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of watching people discover what their voice is capable of.
Many came to Slay The Mic® thinking they were there to become better public speakers. What they discovered was that learning to trust their voice changed so much more than how they showed up on a stage.
They advocated for their health. Walked away from relationships that were no longer serving them. Shared ideas they had been sitting on. Made decisions they had been scared to make...
Said yes to opportunities they might once have talked themselves out of.
They got to experience how good life can feel when you trust your voice enough to use in EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE.
Don't you want to find out how good it can get for you, too?
That’s why I believe so deeply in this work. I’ve watched what can happen when someone stops automatically shrinking away from the moments that ask them to be seen. And the spotlight won’t always look like a stage.
Sometimes it’s putting your name on the thing you created.
Introducing yourself before you disappear into the background.
Letting people meet a part of you they haven’t had access to before.
If you’re ready to come out of hiding and find out what your voice can make possible from there, I’d honoured to help you Emerge.
